Dr Jim Stack, MSc, PhD

Dr Jim Stack lectured in Mathematics and Statistics for 27 years (1981-2008) in Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), as well as providing a statistical support and consultancy service to researchers from WIT, Waterford Regional Hospital and elsewhere. He holds PhD (1995)and MSc (1981) degrees in Statistics from Trinity College, Dublin, in addition to honours primary degrees in Mathematics (London University, 1977) and in Economics and Politics(University College, Dublin 1969). He took early retirement from WIT in 2008 and now works as a statistical consultant, specialising in medical statistics.

In the period 2006-2008 papers, for which Dr Stack provided the statistical input, were published in a range of medical journals, including the following: Investigations in Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Injury, Emergency Medicine Journal, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Cornea, J. Cataract Refract. Surg., Current Eye Research, Experimental Eye Research, EYE and Irish Medical Journal.
